The Ugandan comedienne Kansiime has been offered a huge role in Christopher Nolan’s new World War II film Dunkirk along three other African actors and actresses, which is scheduled for release in July 2017, Hallo Magazine reports.
Multiple sources have confirmed the news to various local media outlets, and while Kansiime is not thought to have a leading role in the film, she will be working alongside some award-winning stars. Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh are all confirmed to star in the film, which focuses on the World War II evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940.
The three others are South Africa’s Boity Thulo, Ghana’s Lil Win and Mwala Vitimbi from Kenya.
“This came as a surprise to me. When I was contacted on facebook, It was it was just one of those spams. They persisted and I gave them my manager’s contacts. So my manager arranged for his pals in the States to meet them in person and it was really true. Everyday is set for me now and would be joining them shortly.” – kansiime confirmed.
“I thank my fans for being loyal to me and I promise them that they are yet to see the best out of me” – she added.
Kansiime Kubiryaba Anne and popularly known as Anne Kansiime, is a Ugandan entertainer, comedian, and actress. She has been referred to as “Africa’s Queen of Comedy” by some African media outlets.
