South Africans have been hit by strange news over the theft of Nelson Mandela’s statue at the Union Buildings.
Employees and security men returned from a staff meeting on Monday afternoon only to see the statue missing with no traces.
The South Africa Police Service have been notified and no arrest has been made since.
The nine-metre-tall bronze statue of Nelson Mandela worths R8-million and it has been suggested that the culprits may be interested in the bronze.
Others have also suspected the authorities at the Union Buildings for perpetrating such crime by forgive organising a meeting for all employees without discussing any serious matters.
SAPS have started investigation into the issue.
